Film Screening We are the City
Festive screening of the short films produced at the Film & Architecture Studio 2026, themed "We are the City". Thursday 08 October, 19:00 - 21:00.
Entrance is free, but you need to register
Over the past five weeks, the participants of the 2026 Film & Architecture Studio explored filmmaking as a research method for understanding urban environments. Under the supervision of architect, curator and filmmaker Jord den Hollander, they developed short films around the theme “We are the City”, exploring how architecture, the city and everyday life can be connected through film.
Rather than focusing on technical filmmaking or post-production, the studio placed storytelling at its centre. Participants learned how to develop a clear and compelling narrative, write a script, shoot footage and use film to organise their observations and ideas about the built environment.
In total, 10 participants took part in this year’s Film & Architecture Studio, each producing a short film of around two to three minutes. During this festive evening, we get to see the results of their five-week exploration of the city through film.
