School's Out! XL

The 38th edition of School’s Out! was a XL version to celebrate the start of 2024! During this special version of School’s Out! we presented our programme of the upcoming year and raised a glass with everyone who feels connect to the Independent School or who wants to get to know us better.

For this special occasion we invited co-founder and principal architect of MVRDV, Jacob van Rijs, who will talk about a series of international redevelopment and transformation projects that the office worked on over the past decade. After the talk by Jacob van Rijs, we took away the chairs and made room for DJ Steve Balearics, DJ Zena- Rae (Aan Tafel! Collective) and a special act by performers and shakers Elisa and Seré called ‘Kimera’.

About Jacob van Rijs
Jacob van Rijs (NL) is a co-founder and principal architect of MVRDV, an interdisciplinary studio that works at the intersection of architecture and urbanism. In his designs Van Rijs combines daring ideas and concepts with a humanistic and user-friendly approach. In the past 25 years he has lead a wide variety of projects, from cultural and civic buildings to transformations, and from residential buildings to social housing and interiors.

KIMERA is a performance born out of the intermittent collaborations in between performers, researchers and shakers Elisa and Seré. KIMERA is so hot that its temperature transforms matter, KIMERA is change and fluctuation so uncomfortable yet so hypnotizing you cannot look away.
